31ss
Hey, all. Been lurking this site for awhile now, first post.....
We have our eye on a 31SS with 496HOs. Looking for advice, tips, etc.
Have any good or bad Sonic stories to share? Have not seen this 31 in person yet, hoping to see and possibly buy this coming weekend. Waiting to hear from banker, insurance, etc. This will be our first performance boat, have been boating 20+ years, mostly Great Lakes.
Thanks!

In all seriousness... the stock 31ss moves good... if you buy an older version and build some motors.. you can see 80-90 no problem. we are low to mid 90's now and I am not hunting to go any higher... Dont have to and I feel we are fast enough for what we use it for....

A friend of mine has a 31SS (GoForBroke) and we were out on Lake Erie yesterday in 4+ with an occasional 6' rollers and his boat handled great. I was in my Slingshot and he was running great. Impressive for a 31 foot boat.

Thank you for the replies everyone! Wifey and I are hemming and hawing over the price etc, but have generally only heard good things about Sonic along with the 31 in particular being a quite capable hull. We boat on Lake Michigan which can get really rough in short order so having a solid pound it out hull is good to hear!
It's hard to find some of the creature comforts (i.e. cruise worthiness) in other boats this size which makes shopping both easier and more difficult to some degree. I am sure you guys can relate when trying to satisfy the man's power needs with a woman's sensibility, LOL.
thanks again

I'm in my second Sonic and am very happy. Not the fastest out there but very stable and solid. Do a search and you will not find many complaints about them. Good Luck
