Generator in 31

I can't imagine how you could get a gennie in a 31 unless you're talking about a Honda 2000 watt stored in the cabin that you set on the swim platform. The 31 has a very tight engine compartment, as do most boats in that size range.

I agree, I was just wondering if anyone had tried.

Might be able to fit a small one under the rear seat, or maybe under the berth. My cabin has a large hatch built into the V berth for a porta potty........very similar to "the chair" in the 31 cig bullets.

I've seen it before. It was a factory option. I will dig around and see if I can find any pics. I'm 80% sure it was mounted in the gunnel forward of the engines on the port side. Small gen set. The Honda 2000 is a nice option, just be carefull of the exhaust. A CO alarm is a must. I have a friend whos son nearly died from the co from his cruisers generator.

I know my boat is not the same as yours but I installed a westerbeak 3.0 genset basicly under my couch seat, and I think it could fit along the gunnel as well. It really small but works great, I have run the A.C., hot water heater, TV/DVD and charger all at the same time with no problems. I can try and get some pictures of it if you pm me your email or something.
