Thats a tough question because most of the single engine 28 ss boats have had the original power replaced with huge single engine power. Friend of mine had a 2001 with twin sb but that doesnt really help you much. What speeds are you looking to reach? That hull in particular is going to take major power to get moving. I think they did away with the 28ss because the prowler was a better single engine option and the 31ss was a better balanced twin engine boat.

I think making the boat lighter is a hell of a start. Sounds like big horsepower with a heavy duty drive w/extension box.... I really don't have an idea what it would take to make 90 mph happen. I know guys with prowler's pushing 700 hp not even getting 80mph. Which imo sucks.
