Re: what sonic would you buy ?
My first consideration would be buy as much length as you can afford. Especially, if you're gunna run in the ocean.
I've seen used 31s for around $60K. My 35SS is selling for $78K. So, I would think you could get a 38 or even a 42 foot for $100K (probably older, but built solid).
I will miss my 35 once it goes. Handled the Chesapeake Bay very well.

Just saw a 97 45SS on the OSO classifieds sell. The asking price was $115K. So, you know it sold for less. On Boat Trader there are a butt load of 45 and 42SS's at the cusp of your $100K limit.
Good luck. What great fun to shop with a $100K?

Derek, don't want to Hi-jack Tony's thread, but at this point, a 38 T.G. TS, w/ 525's is most likely going to be the next boat, at this point it's just a matter of timing, with the right boat and the right deal, a guy here at work is interested in the 288, and a new tow vehicle is a must, diesel all the way.. how's your search comming along ???

Chris,
I am out of boating for a while. Probably going to buy a Harley for the summer for a toy. Maybe in a few years get back into boating. It will definetly be an Active Thunder unless I find something else in the next few years.
