Default Lake Cumberland?

I've been looking at lakefront RE and noticed that there are no properties with their own docks. Is this law? also searching web and see a lot of pictures of a lot of partying going on seems like a nice place with friendly people. I'm from CT and this snobby stuff is getting real old. maybe looking for investment vacation property any advise?

I think the corp of engineers owns all the shoreline, hence no docks.

Correct.

Owned by Corp of engineers. The lake was built with one purpose. Power. They keep it clean (no houses or docks) so they can fluctuate the water level as they please. We were there for the Poker Run last weekend and it was down 25 feet or so. They can alter the water level as they choose. With fluctuations that steep it's tough to have docks.

It is also a lake in the mountain valleys. The shoreline is more like a cliffline.

there are very few private docks because you can't get to them from most area's. as far as the people they are the best. if you find any raft ups you'll know what i'm talking about. what a great vacation place, i'm there every weekend.

I am a realtor and developer of www.wildernessacres.com. I know where the useable ramps are and where the docks to be purchased with property are as well. Let me know if I can be of assisitance. I work for ERA Hometown Realty in Somerset, KY and we are an office with respect to clients needs. I love to socialize as well and know a lot of folks who own boats in this area as well!

From winter pool to over the flood gates is 99 feet. I have seen the lake at both levels.

Red face

There are several private docks on the lake and they have been there for years. They no longer issue any more dock permits. What is there is there and when people sell their property, the boat dock usually goes along with it.
