You get a lot of tourist!! Don't stray off bourbon after dark. And you gotta eat a luck dog!! Act broke and you can negotiate!!well you might be by early a.m. I pulled out $3 one time asking him how much and he just started making it!! Good stuff!!
Wallets front pocket!! If its really crowded and it probably will be, its way too easy for someone to pickpocket!! ID, debit card/CC, and cash you plan on blowing.. leave everything else in hotel safe.
Be safe, I would help out but we are headed to Orange Beach for New Year!!

Never seen that one before but I know what u are getting at and remember that this is a city, there will be some of that no matter where u go but unlike most other places everyone blends well here. There are many places to go in the city, bourbon st is one and there are others like the warehouse district that have bars and clubs also. Some of the comments are kinda funny, shows that some people really arent sure of what they are saying but everyone has Opinions. You're no safer on Bourbon than some other surrounding streets. If you are with a few people you won't have much to worry about no matter where u go.

Favorite place to eat for not much money is the butcher on tchoupitoulas st its connected with an upscale cajun returant as well. Other good places are pat o's l, le bon temps, port of call, Lucy's retired surfer bar, jade brewery. You do need to be careful no matter where you are in thequarter after dark especially during holiday weekends. Ive lived here for 5 years now and never go to the quarter alone. You just need to be observant while you're in the crowds. Ill be in town if you want someone to show you around.
