Default Vacation In The Keys W/ A 42 Fountain

Looking at taking our family vacation this spring, late March early April down in the keys. Wanting an area that is laid back but not to far, by boat, from Key West. We will have our 42 Fountain with and was thinking it would be nice to have a house with lift that could handle it. We did Marco Island last year with our 38 but we didn't have a lift and I wasn't real crazy about having to keep the boat in the water all week. Looking for suggestions on what key to stay on and houses that would sleep up to 6 people with a boat lift. Thanks in advanced Eric

Marathon is a good spot, not to far from key west and not to far to take the boat to the Islamorada sandbar. Plenty of restaurants, bars, touristy stuff to do there also.

There is a group of boaters from VA leaving from West Palm and going to KW for a week in that time frame.
I can get y'all linked up of you want.

Thank you guys for the input. I was looking at Marathon so I think that is where I will narrow my search down fir a house. What do you guys think about leaving the boat in the water for a week verses trying to find a place with a lift?

A lift would be nice but if your motors are fresh water cooled I wouldn't worry too much about it for a week as long as you can wash the boat down each night.

Not sure, I'm no saltwater expert and my boat doesn't go in it. I go out on friends boats when I'm down there lol

There is an upscale boatel right in the center of Marathon that can handle your boat. I forget the name. I'll be going down next week. I'll get the name and exact location and report back then.

The Boathouse at Coral lagoon. My 400SS is there. However, They are doing a major dock remodel and things are a bit tight now
