New To Me Spectre 30
Well it's not really a Spectre; But it was manufactured by Lightning and the mold was from a Spectre.. and seeing as there is no Lightning forum this is the best place to post this.. LOL

It was a Spectre Hull manufactured by Lightning and titled as a Vicious 30' Racer - Now Thats a mouth full.... yipes.
But its a 30 Spectre hull for the most part, with allot of bottom work done. It's has a F16 Canopy that seats the drive and throttle man offset just alittle so the throttle man can see, It's not that bad. This winter I plan on turning it into a 4 seater canopy racer so I can do some poker runs and maybe a weekend play boat (every once in awhile)

I have heard some debate.................what is better......a 30 with IO's or outboards? Which is more stable in a true 3 ft. confused chop? Stability and how she re-enters the water after some air?

only driven 30's with O/B's...busy to drive, little flighty but works awesome in water described above and lands very soft.

My dad used to race that boat back in 95' when he won both the National and World Championships in the prostock class. That was when it had triples... I always loved that boat and glad to see it's in good hands!
How fast does it run now? I remember when it had triple outboards my dad Joey Gratton and Steve Page saw 122mph on the magic water at Lake X... Then 2 days later they did a kilo run in Sarasota for the 4th of July and only saw 114 or 117mph.. Don't remember the exact number

Lightning bought a 30' Spectre and splashed it. It was built by Lightning and nothing to do do with Spectre. As for the Vicious title that's a stretch......I know it came from Aqua Toy Store as it sat there for along time. I think Roger Bourget owned it at one time.

That about right, Lightning made a few and 2 are still racing (One under the Spectre name) There was no Lightning forum to post this so this fourm was the next best thing.
Vicious re-work bottom and titled it seeing as Lightning never did.
Or so I was told.. either way is painted white and I'm picking up motors Monday morning..
