Question 300 Pro Max Done In...

Blew up our stbd motor on our 2004 30' SPECTRE
#6 injector leaned out and pushed the connecting rod through the side of the block! Has anyone else seen this?
Why did this occur... If anybody knows where to source out a short block I'd appreciate the help!

Happy Boating!

98 step bottom 24, 300 promax
ethanol fuel

had same problem w 300pm, it turned out the ethanol fuel didnt get along with the rubber in the low pressure fuel pump (the new merc fuel pump rebuild kit uses plastic disks instead) this in turn didnt feed enough fuel to the vst high pressure pump which leaned it out at high rpm -also check vst filter.

We've had some idle issues! It likes to cut out obviously when cold & when shifting. A Mercury Rep told me to run their Quick Clean. I think I'll send the injectors out to be balanced! Do you have their contact info?
Thanks,
