30, 32, and 36... differences?
I'm asking about boats with twin inboard big block power (i.e. hp500, 500efi, 525efi).
Besides the obvious difference in length, what are the differences in handling, speed (with comparative power), and rough water ability?
I read that the 32' is a 28' Skater mold thats been extended. Is this right? Are the 30' and 36' based off another hull? Can you get 1/4 canopy versions on all three?

The 32 Spectre has nothing to do with a 28 Skater! Jay designed it from scratch. You can only get 1/4 canopies on a 36. IMHO the 32 is the best boat of the three. The 36 is a streched and widened 35 Motion which is a streched 32 Skater. I have a great 35 Motion for sale!!

I know. I put up one of our extra houses for sale (the extra house) and if it sells, I'll be buying your boat instead of a less expensive Spectre. I've had my eye on your boat for awhile.
What are the speed differences? I found a 30' with twin HP500's and most 32'/36's I've found have 500efi for power.

a 36 with 500s set up right is a 107-112 mph boat
a 32 is a bit faster i believe, and doesnt have the midrange hop that the 30 and 36 share, although a 36 will spank a 32 in rough water. we have a 36 raceboat with 850s and #6 drives for sale. Spectre is the best bang for the buck out there.

IMHO from what ive read and seen the 32 is the best 30-32 cat on the market. If you see Roaf Palantini's old boat it ran 137 with 575's and bravo drives. Im sorry but thats moving for a 575 boat

also the 32 with similiar power runs faster than a 36 . I can run 109 in my 32 right now with stock 500's and 34 4blades all over the limiters. Theres is a 36 in town with 525's that runs 102 consistantly with -2imcos and 5 blade 32's

If thats all the 36 is running it isnt set-up correctly. The vid doesnt mean the motors are stock set ups. You can get alot of power out of a 575. I was there at the run and saw the boat when Rolf was rigging it years ago. The 575 stock is only 550hp and if I remember ran 125 or so stock. The 32 is a great running boat!!
