My 2500HD is the Duramax/Allison combo. I had a Tahoe before and was already settled on something in the 30' plus range for our next boat, so I picked a diesel, which will hopefully last me quite some time and meet all of my towing needs for a while. It is a CC short bed 4x4. I considered the long bed and the dually (which are both a bit better for towing, I realize), but I couldn't bring myself to buy one since it may be a daily driver for a while. The short bed is hard enough to handle compared to the Tahoe .
