Sunsation Help

Hi Sunsation owners...I have sold my 33 Outlaw and have been searching for a 288 MCOB. I really love the layout and Sunsation's quality in workmanship.

My question is does anybody know this boat on ebay now? Link is below. Also is there anything I should look for in this model boat, meaning any weak points, problem areas?

No problems on the 288 that I've ever heard of from anyone. I have the CB and over 300 hours and not one issue in terms of craftmanship or fiberglass/gel. No cosmetic nor stress cracks, no gel voids or anything like that. Excellent rigging under the dash back to the engine compartment and as solid as it was back on day one. No sloppy work or cutting corners from the factory at all that I've ever come across.
I'd have a VERY hard time buying anything else other then a Sunsation based on how great this boat has been and how great the guys and gals are that run the place and build the boats.

Nice boat......get the HIN and call Joe at the factory and he may have some insight on the rail repair and the history of this 6 year old 19 hour boat. I would be suspicious of those two parts of the description. NO WAY did the boat have an issue with the rail, I suspect someone may have tied the boat up using the rail when the incident happened.

That boat is very clean but doesn't have the Mcleod bolsters (option).

Sunsation 288 MCOB
Aren't those black switches on the bolster seats the switch for electric or is that a release button?

I've seen a couple of 288 MCOB's with bent bow rails. I agree the culprit is from tying off to the rail. The rails used are not a one piece welded rail so they are more susceptible to damage if you use them for anything other than their intended purpose. Not having McLeod interior will bring the value of the boat down some. And I agree with JS that 19 hours is very fishy. In fact that few of hours, if actual, is hard on the motor. Verify the hours with a scan tool.

Jassman's used worn out center console with old spilled drinks in it.
Far below price would be be getting close to current bid in this market IMO.
