If you change your mind about an open bow . Mahopac Marine is listing my 08' 288 MCOB with a brand new warrantied Raylar SCR700 & XR drive. I'll cut you a great deal & even tow it halfway to Alabama for you.

It is hard to say. My opinion of the deal is this: It is a new boat , but it is still an '07 and once you put any hours on it at all it becomes a used '07 with a 525. That brings up another issue the 525 cost like crazy on the front end, but does not seem to add much value on the resale in the used market. I personally think in todays market for the boat to move it would need to be priced in the 70 range. I sure don't mean to price the market, but it is very depressed and you have to think what it would bring after one summer, as you will have a used '07 to try and market. When I first inquired abou the boat the market was still high and I thought 90 should buy it.

Tmurch I agree with you 100% Yes the boat is new, but the second I drive off the lot with it it just depreciated 35% (at the 110k price range) Kinda makes it hard to justify spending that much. I agree that 70's is where it needs to be priced in the current market.
Then again I'm seeing 05 and 06 Sunsations with 100 some odd hours on them and the owners asking price is in the 70's to low 80's.
I understand its not necessarily a NADA boat (Former Donzi owner) But the current market should have alot of influence on price... just my opinion.

There is a 05 288 MCOB with 525 on Sunsation website advertised in the 70's. I hate it for the guys at Thomas Marine and I hope they get both the boats sold. I just can't see the boats doing anything but depreciating new or not. They will always be '06 and '07 model boats. Good Luck with your search. I can tell you this: You will not find a finer boat and the customer service from the factory is unmatched!
