Default Windshield to Fairing on 288

I've read an old post about this on a 25ft but not on the 288. The conclusion seemed to be that it was possible but not very cost effective. The reason I ask is I like the fairing better than the windshield but I like the helm/dash layout of the windshield version better than the fairing version. Go figure.
Has anyone made the switch? I know I could call the factory but I thought I'd try here first.

It won't be very cost effective. The gauge/dash layout is part of the windscreen where it is more or less stand alone on the windshield.

I see what your saying. I was thinking more along the lines of plexiglass style in place of the windshield more than trying to use a factory fairing. Or would this be a "fopa" and bring the wrath of the Sunsations gods?

I think it would devalue the boat quite a bit. You could always paint the windshield frame and do a light tint of any color that would work with the boat.

Wouldn't want to devalue it and/or definitely wouldn't want to drastically change the look or styling of it in any negative way. I think Sunsation has done a great job on these boats, otherwise I wouldn't be looking to get one. I'm just not a windshield guy but there are a few out there for sale so just looking at options. Painting and tinting would be an option. I think Fountain does something along those lines. Thanks for the input "soonenough"
