Default Easiest way to 80MPH?

I bought an 01 288 at the end of last fall. It has the 454 Mag MPI in it with 297hrs on it. This is my first boat and I plan on going to a bigger boat in a couple years so i didnt wanna drop a fortune in the motor. I was looking into doing a procharger at 5psi and maybe a 30 pitch labbed prop. I know procharger says you dont need to tune the ecm but i've read that you need to, which makes sense. I am just seeking a little help and insight from some of you guys who now a lot more about these boats than me. I dont plan on running wide open everytime the whole time i'm out but i'd like to be able to travel a 10 miles stretch or so without having to lift the throttle. i kinda wanted to keep the efi, i enjoy the reliabilty and the easy starts. Thanks!

Hate to sound like a jerk but he cheapest way to 80 would to be a boat that already does 80. Sunk an absolute fortune in a 272 that never broke 80. Had more in the motor and props than I did in the boat.

The boat runs about 65 now gps. It has a bravo 1 drive I wasn't planning on changing the drive. I was hoping to keep it around 6 or 7k. If I go over not a big deal

Sell the 288 and look for a Dominator with 496 HO's. Cheaper in the long run.

I'm betting if you put that pro charger on a 454 mpi it is only cheap for the original change. It will end up being much cheaper to upgrade to the 32 with twins over a 5 year period.
