Trying to get a list of props people have tried and their results. anyone ever tried a 5 blade, hyrdromotive, herring, merc. high 5, 3 blade, list your results..
So far these are mine...
05 288 496 H.O.
Stock Merc. 26 Bravo 1 Best ever of 72.6 and 69-70 @ 5,000 all day long
half fuel and 1 or 2 aboard runs average of 71
Labbed Merc. 26 Bravo 1 ran @ the Rev limiter at about 1 mph more than average of the stock 26
interested in trying a PX-5 , merc. High 5, stock 28 B1 and then lab it..

Re: Prop Questions on a 288.. what prop have you tried, what were the results ??
Of the few props I tried on mine. The Bravo 1, 4 blade has had the best results.
My px-5 prop after lots of running and experimenting, have come to the conclusion that it's NOT a good prop for the 288 Hull. Although my cruising speeds were a little better, The faster I went, the worse it was. I also needed twice the trim to get to those speeds.
3000 rpm 42 mph px-5 Stock
3500 rpm 52 mph px-5 Stock
5400 rpm 82 mph px-5 Stock
3000 rpm 39 MPH Bravo 1 Stock
3500 rpm 50 MPH Bravo 1 Stock
5400 rpm 86 MPH Bravo 1 Stock
I don't remember the numbers on the Hydromotive 4 blade, But I remember my Bravo one out preformed it.
