The fairing is basicallt the "new look" Sunsation fairing found on the new 32 and 288's. Here's my 32. I love the new look inside and out of the fairing. Opens up more avenues with the paint versus the smooth look. The dash is much improved too.

The PP faring was replaced by the dominator faring, as Reckless indicates. They are just filling it in now to give it the size appropriate for the bigger boat. It will look pretty much exactly like the 288 and 32 current farings. The only difference is it is much bigger. It is probably 3 - 3.5 feet from the base of where the windscreen starts until you get to the peak of it.

BTW Reckless - very nice looking boat.

Thanks. I had to do something to accent the new lines in the fairing as well as compliment the tribal paint. The pictures doesn't really do it justice...

You never know, Wayne may re-introduce them. Did you ever ask him the story about how he tested that concept out before he put it on the boat?

He moved the faring much further forward on the new bigger boat to help deflect the wind over your head. Time will tell if it will work.

Something like that. I think he mounted it somehow on the hood of his pickup until he got it to flip up at the speed he wanted.

I've never seen that on a Sunsation before! How well does it work? Why is it not an option anymore?

My understanding is it works great. Flips up at a certain speed and deflects the air so you don't get as much air rushing in your face. Not sure they have the molds for it anymore. Dave would know.

Those deflectors worked to perfection but were way to labor intensive and Wayne was the only guy who could install all the components and set each one up. There were other complications with the molds that thwarted keeping these as an option.
