Washington, NC Results ????

Re: Washington, NC Results ????
We have had the same problem at OPA races with lap speeds. For that reason we have run the course after setup with 3 GPS's on board before the race to get an exact pin to pin measurement for the course as set. A shift of even 50 feet for one bouy can really mess up you course length calculations.

Something is wrong with the scoring, I saw tattletales of a few boats that were 1mph over there average lap speed. They are looking into it

Big congrats on a hard run in NC - it couldn't have happened to nicer guys. Hope the drive home wasn't TOO uncomfortable for James and that he heals quickly. I think it's going to take our outdrive awhile to heal too......haha!!

I sincerely hope there was a miscalculation and SBI/APBA is working to correct it. I'd hate to see all ya guys move to P4 when we're having so much fun in P5.

If it stands, and we really did break out, so be it, we still have the warlock in P4 and we'll retire the little guy. She is too small to run P4 speeds safely

Thanks, Mike
Thanks, Mike
Looking further, we had some faster lap times than all of the SLV boats, and even a Super Stock boat. There is a surge in lap times in lap 2 with the boats in both races, some by 10mph. I looked at past races, there's no history of this being a normal occurrence.
Like Lee said earlier, we passed pre- and post-tech with their approved setup. Their prop calc put us at 82+ change. The best I saw in the straighaways was 81.1 on the GPS at the limiter, and with the turns so tight, we were scrubbing down to 68-69.
Can some enlighten me on the mechanics of scoring? Is it a manual process? Something electronic or computerized? With 24 boats on the race course, I can't imagine 24 people with stopwatches on the start/finish boat. How's it work?
There appears to be a fly in the buckwheat on this one.
Cheers,
Brian

It must be something in the water.....
The Fountains seem to run their fastest speeds on the Pamlico River as well.
Ok! Ok! I was just kidding.... Now back to the scoring investigation.......
