Re: Key West SuperVEE's Race #1
Yachts and Shoegren actually got better starts, the Boxer, then Lucas.
Yachts appeared to mis-navigate... turned into the middle of the course, then got back on plane, but they were way behind at that point, it truly looked like they just blew the turn. They limped it around for a few laps but to most people watching they did not appear to have had any problem (mechanical) they just seems more like they knew they were not going to catch the fleet and just opted to quit, but there is no way to be sure, have not spoken to them yet.
Then Shoegren totally blew the 1st turn, it almost looked loke the boat could not turn, they went past the Bouy and kept going straight, almost like they never even saw the Bouy??, by the time they turned around, they were probably 20 seconds back, and toast.
The Citreon boat was slow, sounded like there was some mechanical issue, lots of off and on the throttle and no reason for it because dead flat water. Engines were not popping or doing anything obviously bad, it just didn't sem like it was running right.
Good tune up for Friday though, if the water is the same as today to most fun will be had by the Pro Outboard Guys, not the Key West we had become used to in terms of sater conditions, a lot like last year.
