Just my .02 but yes everyone is right, but lets formulate a formal plan starting with Step 1 and so on. Lets not bite off more than we can chew at one sitting. Once and only when Step 1 is completed then move to Step 2 and so on. If we start getting spread out amongst the steps, then this wont work. And most importantly, we need to have EVERYONE on board and come to the understanding that majority rules and those that might get out voted so to speak will respect that and still stick with the majority plan.

Perhaps he was just ahead of his time. I wasn't racing when all of that went down but I'm sure there were some good ideas in there somewhere.
I know that JC and crew already have plenty to do and they are in the business of being a Race Producer what we need is maybe someone like a racers representative that could work with both the race site promoter and the producer to help make "the show" all it can be. Someone to be there to help. Someone to ask the promoter "Is there anything you would like the racers do to help you promote this event and/or put on a better show for your people?"

In a perfect world (or my idea of it) we would have a boat that looked like this be the 1st Start boat at every race, and before the race it would escort the race boats to wherever the National Amthem was to be played and have a BIG american flag flying off the back of it. (No a bigger flag than that, I mean huge!!) I know the parade lap has be mentioned before, but wouldn't it be cool to see all of the race boats following a boat like this with a HUGE (Denny's size) american flag around the course before the race?
Then to go one step further the second pace boat would be something like this and again stick out like a sore thumb!!

1 premiere sanctioning body (purchase, merge or JV with JC as he is the only one who has ever made it work); 1 premiere class in which the sanctioning body owns all 10-15 boats, handpicks and pays the crews; 1 television package for the premier class. Build the entire business around that model.
Then, have as many or as few classes, races, regional organizations everyone wants as the support structure. That is where the future stars come from. Stage big events with everyone there but the weekend culminates with the premiere class racing Sunday afternoon.
