2013 Sarasota Suncoast Offshore Grand Prix could be in trouble
I’ve seen an article that the 2013 Sarasota Race might be cancelled!
http://www.heraldtribune.com/article...may-not-return
All Sarasota businesses, people in the area and supporters of the race should let their voices be heard, show support, and make sure this doesn't happen...
Almost thirty years of Offshore Racing and raising money for charity in one of the best locations in Florida can’t be lost!
Who supports the Annual Sarasota Offshore Grand Prix?
"Over the past 28 years, Festival proceeds have constructed more than $14 million in facilities for local non-profit agencies serving special needs children and their families."

C. Gordon Houser
Retired President,
Donzi Marine Corp.
Save the Grand Prix
Anyone wishing to keep the Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix in Sarasota as an annual Fourth of July week event is invited to attend a meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Sarasota.
The survival of this long-running event is dependent on the support of the community! For those of you who are not familiar, the Grand Prix has been a staple on the national marine scene for 29 years, providing funding for facilities, care, services and training to those who are physically or mentally challenged in our community. The weeklong festival benefits Suncoast Charities for Children.
While the Grand Prix brings significant tourist dollars to our area, it is more about serving the residents who are in need of our support. Wednesday's meeting is about bringing creative ideas to the table for expanding the effectiveness, community value, long-term stamina and, you guessed it, viable funding.

Suncoast Charities needs to raise the $100k by April 11th or no race. Sarasota County Commission only offered $28500... We'll see what happens...
