Sound to me like those are pretty good numbers for your HP output Jim.

Hey Eddie ,
I dont think we will be racing this year except for maybe Cambridge at the end of the season, OPA has changed classifications and im not sure where I would race , Cambridge was such a great place we really loved it , its at the end of the season so if something breaks I wont be waiting half the season to get back running.
Hows things by you? what power are you running these days ? Any racing for you this year? When you coming up to long Island again? I hear there is going to be a few new poker runs around here !

Its great to be back and Pat let me know when you want to do a sunday run to Claudios! And I will definetely will plan on the Conn river run this year. Mike when you are ready we can do a south shore meets north shore with the conn guys

Sounds Great Jim!
You may not have met him yet, but Pure Energy, here on the board, keeps his 30' Superboat in Greenport at a family summer house, so I'm sure he'll meet us anytime.
I'm also hoping to make a trip to your waters in June. Hopefully Tripps, FX10, Zup, and the rest of you south shore guys will nail down a date for Superfest.
There is a Poker Run July 14th-15th that runs from the CT River to Green Port to Block Island, then up the Thames River to the Mohegan Sun Casino. I'll be running in that either officially or unofficially. If you're are interested, check the Poker Runs America web page.
The CT River Run was not nearly as big last year do to flooding, but I'm sure the Scream&Fly guys will setup another great gathering this fall.
Happy Boating!

Very interested to hear more about your set up. I have a 540 and this winter installed a 2.3 intercooled Whipple. I was out last weekend and went 86.3 with a 28p Bravo 1 @ 5700 rpm with 6 lbs of boost. 5700 is where I want to be. The motor, before the Whipple, was dynoed @ 600 hp and went 81.5 @ 5400 rpm. I am thrilled to be going 86 mph, but thought I would gain more. Do you have any thoughts, or does this seem right?

P.S. We have never "officially" met, but I saw you at Claudio's maybe 2 yrs ago and shouted to you from the dock inquiring about what power you had. You may not remember, but I do. That's when I had been gaining interest is the Y2K.

We have put multiple whipples on multiple hulls and usually gain 5-15 mph.

Hey Pat,
sounds great id like to do that poker run too! sometimes poker runs america are kinda snobish crowd ( million dollar hardware must do that to ya) so maybe unofficially with a few friends is the way to go! that seems like a pretty long run ! how many miles is it , do you know? Anyway i am now rewiring and doing a few other cosmetic repairs and i should be ready in a few weeks. She is running strong and Im not going to push it , I am working on a bottom modification but its trial and error and i will play with it all summer ("ROCA SPEEDRAILS" they are aluminum extrusions to be mounted on the hull in various areas to give lift and reduce drag but ill start a thread when I begin the project, end of may)

Hey Pure energy,
nice to meet ya, Im Jim Capie, I have one of the first Y2Ks. It was originally set up for Factory one racing with an Hp500 and XR drive . John and junior raced it a few times , It won the manufactures Cup challenge in point pleasant NJ in 2001.When I bought it in 2002 it had a procharger added to the hp500 and was claimed to do 90mph, when I test ran before buying ,82mph was the best it did.I have had several engines in it ,all basicaly blown 509s , my wife and I have raced in OPA and Superboat International with it, it is competive but reliability of bravoXRs behind blown motors is BAD. I wouldnt boost more than 5psi and keep hp under 700. I have eaten Many bravoXRs My best speed was low 90s with about 725hp. 92 point something if i recall (i cooked a drive that day, no rough water no slamming the throttle just too much torque) I have tried many many props including herring(3500$used) and hydro P5X has been by far the best
I am rambling sorry! iv been off the water for awhile! pick a sunday in may and we can meet at Claudios( i hav a wedding memorial weekend)
You too Pat!
Was your boat rigged by Falcon? I know that boat, funky paint job i lov it! It also was claimed to do in the 90s When I tested it also ran 81 82 best .

Hey super babi,

dam your always on here!
Smitty built the motor and drive that I am currently breaking in. He does great work but if you are not a racer you will have a very long wait! He caters to the racing crowd. I have found him to be the best that I have experienced, my luck with MRD was not good , I know they are said to be one of the best but Im just talking from my personal experience. Smitty is a three hour ride from my house and MRD and ZUL are 15 minutes away. I do need a local guy.....
