Default Jcap

First run of the Jessie James since fresh engine and drive. It was completed last June but bad health prevented me from even breaking her in.
Imagine having had to wait almost a year !! It was driving me crazy ! The boat has been sitting in the back yard waiting for me.
My health is good and this morning(warmed her up in the driveway at 6 am neighbors love me) I hit the great south bay! It was cold and blowing pretty good 3 to 3 1/5 foot chop, but it felt great! she ran strong but i didn't want to go over 5000rpm, tattle tale read 82 but I'm not sure of rpms (left my glasses at the dock couldn't see my gauges)3 hours on her now. After a fresh mobil 1 oil change I will run her a little harder.
Dam I miss the smell of 100 octane and a over rich idle
Jim

HA!!!!!! I beat you to it!! I went out on Sat. Only needed a sweatshirt. The Hudson was flat calm so I think that may have something to do with not hitting the speeds we were looking for. Actually just wanted to test the motor and make sure everything was OK before we pushed it.

Anyway, glad you got back on the water.

ok 10 hours on new motor and drive, nice easy break in
changed straight 40 wt oil at 2 hours, then again at 5 hours, now mobil 1 at 10 hours . The motor is basicaly the same as my last , 509 blowershop 250, 1050 dominator , 728hp on the dyno with 92 pump gas but detuned to 665 hp ( Tired of eating bravos ) The drive is an XR but no spacer this time , P5X 29 lefty stock. I have the limiter set at 5500 rpm.
Cold morning about 45 deg 15 mph wind 2 to 3 ft chop , about 75 gals of fuel so im pretty heavy ,hitting limiter at 5500rpm 86.8 mph I will change the chip to 6000 after 20 hours , I think there is another 200 rpms . I also think i gave up 2 to 3 mph without the spacer but I think It put additional stress on the drive and i am working on a bottom modification that might get back that 2 to 3 mph and reduce drive stress.Going slower sucks but i am trying to keep this drive alive
