1989 24 Pantera
Anyone familiar with this 24

Anyone have any info on this boat? Past or present? Looks clean. Any feedback on the SB 24s. have been on pantera 24s. Any comments between the two, or are they pretty similar? Thanks.

1995 Pantera 24SE - SOLD
Re: Anyone familiar with this 24

That's sean dutra's old boat.
I ran with him 2yrs ago.
it probably ran 68-70.

Pantera's are heavier for sure.
As far as quality, fit and finish... that cabin hatch says alot. just my 0.02.

I always thought the 24 sb was a light pantera with a step.

Re: Anyone familiar with this 24

superbabi, please dont take any offense... as i said its only my 2cents.
I've gone on about this before in this forum, but its just that how can a factory let a hatch like that go out the door. And from what I understand, and have been told here on this site, that JC still makes that cabin hatch the same way. If you don't see what I mean, that hatch does not sit flush on the doors... its warped or something.
I have not been in a 30y2k, but have only talked to one owner, and he had stringer separation probs at the transom. This was before fx10 was there, so things could have changed. Back in the early 90s my best friend had 1983 24sb w/ single ob. I liked the way it ran, but was kinda light. Now i know an ob is no comparison to an ib boat, but we all know the 24 is lighter. Lighter means faster, but there is sacrifice w/ light weight... that being able stay settled in rough waters, and so called wave crush.

There is no better bang for the buck than the 30y2k if you don't load it up too much. Its much less expensive than activator and progression and speeds are pretty damn close.
But if you look at the fit and finish of the new 28 panteras coming out of jo's shop, i see a big difference from what is coming out of Lindenhurst.
And like i said this is just my opinion.

And I'd like to restate that I don't own my pantera anymore, and my not own one again. May own a y2k, or may not. And I'd be happy to own either, escpecially being boatless.

And if any of you sb boys want to prove me wrong, show me how good your boats ride for a day. I'll bring the beers.

Re: Anyone familiar with this 24

Stormrider, no offense taken, however it is never a good idea to go to the HOST SITE (superboat ) and say something thats not very positive about the boat/company. I in fact this weekend was on and driving a 28' twin MAJOR BRAND name boat that was a horrible ride in all aspects. I would never go to that site on this board and say a word, sometime certain things are best when left UNSAID. Thanks
