A 21 P throphy definatly gives you good hole shots and mid range allows you to carry extra weight but top end will sacrificed plus fuel economy.
My 24's ran best with the 23 Pitch Trophy plus> I saw speeds low to mid 60's GPS depending on load, temperature and water conditions. With the 23 trophy I could carry full tank of gas + 4 passengers and boat still performs well. .Under light loads fully trimmed and aired out it will hit the rev limiter on the 250efi. The 24 loves a chop to get it aired out! Total awsome boat to own and drive. Good luck with the boat!

You must have more space in the boat with it being an outboard cause if someone stands between the bolsters on mine, their butt will be in the person's face in the back seat. Of course, that doesn't really bother me! I'm betting the outboard is better for getting on plane with people in the boat as well.
I haven't had any trouble with the bolsters dropping out. I have the opposite problem. I can't put them down if i want to because the rods are so tightly stuck they can't be removed by hand!

well guys i wanted to check back in and say hi.
been using the heck out of the boat, i love it! every outting i get more confident, comfortable, and just flat out get better at driving it...
still playing with the jack plate and trimming the motor and learning the limits.. i've yet to ever see my water pressure drop off, and with the prop shaft 2" below the last step's keel and trimming the motor a bit where it's not throwing any kind of rooster tail i'm running consistent 63mph range on GPS and having to not even be WOT while i'm doing that.
the 21P trophy has me hard agisnt the limiter.. it chirps and beeps at me if i go WOT and trim it.... i can get the boat to run 6000 rpms no problem on any given day with less than WOT... i'm supposed to be at 5800 i believe
this past week my project undertaking was installing a stereo system on the boat, so now i have two 6x9s and two 6.5s in the cockpit with a head unit in a flip open enclosure in front of the passenger seat... the tunes were desperately needed for all the 5mph zones and for hanging out on the boat.
little by little slowly getting confidence on the settings and where to put the motor... it definitely develops a chine walk sometimes when i'm running it full bore on calm water which can be nerve-racking since i'm relatively inexperienced.. thats about when i start backing off and trimming it back down
i see alot of boats out in the GSB during the week tearing thru the flats throwing some water in the air... i dont know if that's what i'm supposed to be doing or not for max speeds or if it's just for looks to throw a rooster tail...

Hunt down Superbash (Gene) over on Scream&Fly.
He will have all the info to set your boat up right.
As for props, try a 23p Rev 4.
Good luck with the boat!
