Fastest in a 24?

Just wondering what kind of speed has been wrung out of a 24? I've heard rumors of a guy running around 90 in the past? Any truth to this?

I was just out on the second trip since fixing the gimbal ring and saw 77.7 on gps with a full load of gear/fuel/2people- in a 2ft chop. I was shocked at how easy to drive this boat is, bascially like driving a large version of my Checkmate.

Years ago I had a 24 Superboat with a Gale Banks twin turbo 482" big block. It spun a 29 Mirage to 6200 and would wind the needle on the Nordskog way past 80. Not sure actual speed as this was before gps.

It was a fun ride and quite the sleeper as the turbo's took all the bark out of the exhaust.

I had one that I that we put a 454 gale banks turbo set up in , the boat was yellow with a gray and yellow interior. I rigged the boat with a bravo drive . It orginally had the 280 trs package . That boat ran in the high 80's . That was in 1994-95..
