Convincor, I put in at East Haddam this past saturday and took a run down river and out to the thimble islands and back. Nice windy day so the sound was nice and choppy the way I like it. How about you??

I launched at saybrock again(alway's do) Saturday at about 2:00 and headed out to block island again.
3-5's out in block island sound. went out thru the gut and there it got pretty big, 6-7ft.
Otherwise not to bad. Spent the night saturday came back sunday mid day. Same coming back but came thru the race instead. Nice 2-3 ft chop. Wind was blow'n all weekend.
Should be out again this weekend as long as the weather is good.
How do you like your new boat?

Hey Convincor,
I made the same trip Saturday. Left Chester creek at 2:30pm, docked up at Champlin's 4:00pm Saturday. Nice trip over, the wind was at our backs. Had the hammer down, my wife didn't say a word. Sunday it was in our face and took a lot longer to get home. We got real wet too.

Convincor,
Love the new boat, the ride is definetly the selling point of this hull. Want to get it out in some bigger stuff to really see what it can do. Going to Lake Champlain VT this weekend.
Question for you....where do you dock up for the night at Block island?? I want to make that trip overnight and was wondering where to moor up the boat for the night.
Thanks

sb30,
We dock up at Champlins marina or Panes dock in New Harbor (Salt Pond).
Champlins has a little more to offer, ie. a swimming pool.

sb30,Go where Patrick say's.
I anchor over near dingy beach. Can't see giving marina's $3 a foot to tie up to someone else's boat.(rafting) I don't use electricity or water either. Why should I pay for it?
Chaplin's and Old port run a taxi service in the harbor. Chaplin's is free. If I want to go ashore, which I do, I hail them on channel 68 and they'll pick me up.
Plus this gives me privacy.
Patrick, I got wetter going out then coming back.
I went thru plum gut going out. Didn't know if I was going to go to green port or block.
The gut was churning pretty good.
The wife was sitting on the back seat, had to keep looking back to see if see was still there.
