Hey Tripps,

Does Peconic bail out for the Winter, or is he in Europe?

I know that he is up for a trip up the CT river...
It's a long run for you by boat but not for him. You could drive out east and hook up for a ride across. Drag ZZ along, he may need to break away at some point this Summer...
I know I'll be spending more time on the river this year as our son will be 18 months come June. ZZ says the rumble of a big block will put him to sleep.

Hey Patrick,

How far is Block Island? When are you doing that run? I just got a new tow vehicle.

Dave, Nice new ride!
If you make a trip up north, I'll make a run when ever you like.
It is about 45 miles one way from Chester (where JMK and I keep our boats), 35 miles from the mouth of the CT river.
Normally I make 3 trips to BI during the summer. One around the 4th of July, one with the boys only mid to late August, and one in between.

I definitely bought the truck with future exansion in mind! It has a 10K tow limit. That should handle just about anything.

The Block Island thing sounds cool. I lived in New London, CT. for 3 years and regret never getting out there. What are the seas like going out? You must really have to watch the weather.

Hey Tripps, I told my neighbor to give me at least a day notice if he is getting any trees cut!

Dave,
It seems the later in the summer the bigger the seas in Block Island sound. Also, the later in the day the sea tend to build more too.
To answer your question, we have run into big big water and had to travel barely on plane a few times. Yes, you do definitely need to watch the weather as it can change quickly.
We have had some vary smooth runs over the years too. Until last year, my fastest run from up river was 1 hour 25 min. in my 20' Donzi. Last year, 1 hour 20 min. in the 24' Superboat. Surprisingly, both runs were with my wife... .She is normally telling me to slow down.
