Exclamation Tuff Luck Summer

Hi Guys,
I haven't been to the board much lately...been fixing my boat again...
Well they say bad thing happen in 3s; first my drive coupler, then I hit a long, last my engine blew up.
Got done patching her back together just in time for our Boyz only run to Block Island.
She ran flawlessly, so we're hoping she holds together for the last 6-8 weeks of the season...

So how is everyone else doing?

I hear ZZ is still testing props and may put her back up for sale.
Superbash, did I read you bought a 300?
Jcap and Fasteddie, how's the racing?
Dave, how's the new job? Buying a 30 anytime soon?
Dutra, if you and Super30 are doing a late season run, let me know...

Talk to you all later,

Hey Patrick,

It looks like I'm down for the season. Last week after a hard run, I came off plane and she died. I restarted to a terrible knock. The next day I pulled the plugs and cranked water out of the port side. I thought I got lucky, put the plugs back in and stil knocking BAD. F'IN merc exhaust! I will NEVER have stock merc exhaust agaain. I'm pulling the motor this week and having it opened up for a look. Once I find out what's up I will plan from there. I was seriously thinking about selling and going for the '30. Right now I am looking at giving the '24 a makeover. We'll see.

Hey Bash,
I got lucky with my engine, I had a spare set of heads and the stock cam. It only cost me gaskets and a new timing set to get her back up and running. I am not sure what I'll do for next year; quite sure that I have to rebuild as a minimum...
Can't wait to here how yours runs with a 300X.

Sorry about your engine Dave.
When you do choose a new exhaust, go with something that has a dry riser joint. Gil, Stainless Marine, or headers...

Hey Pat
Ever hear of the Ct. River Run? Oct. 16th. I may hit it with a few of the L.I. Scream&Fly boys. Trailer up for the day. Haddam Meadows State Park? How long?

No, I have not, but I'll do it with you.
My wife has family out your way in Baldwin???
Anyway, it takes us about 2hrs for us to get there.
Haddam Meadows is 5 miles north of me, so I'm guessing it would take you between 2-1/4 and 2-1/2 hours to trailer up.

2 1/2 hrs not too bad. A few of the guys here did it last year. I"ll find out if it's definite. I'm trying to post the S&F link, under Events and Races.
