Default choice of power

I sold my sonic and was thinking about a 26' sutphen. I was wondering if twin small blocks was the way to go or a monster big block? Any input or suggestions would be appreciated. Also if anyone has pics of the bilge with twins that would be cool. Thanks, Trevor

I personally like twins for the ability to get you in during an engine failure of some kind.

Beyond that it seems to be split on who likes Twins to singles from what I have seen in other posts like this.

I also like I/O's for ease of rebuilding(can rebuild them myself), but I have seen some really, really fast outboards latley.

I'm redoing a 26 with twins right now and let me tell you, everything you buy is times two. I've own two twin Sutphens and would have to say twins are sweet but anything under 30 foot should have a single. just my $.02.

26 with twins is a nice riding boat and I'm sure the single is also with the right setup. I have driven an older 26 with single 330/TRS but it was under powered by today's standards.

Great pics, looks like there is room to work on the twins? How about at speed 80+ do the twins handle any better pushing from the corners instead of the center? Thanks for the replies,Trevor
