Negative on Sutphen

I've always loved Sutphen's and feel that they are a fantastic rough water boat and are well built.

However I'm not that familiar with how they are built.

Just curious what your thoughts are on the comments expressed on page two of this thread.

they are tough to roll over...!!!
the new little ones and the larger ones are built with the best materials out there..no carbon fiber..no kevlar..no ovens..
it's tough to grow up in new england and not know the name..more popular than cigs @ one time up here..
the new smaller ones rich jr is building are absolutely beautiful..different bottoms, different deck..
we own the tsunami race boat...fun boat..
let the "boys" that have been out in the rough water comment on them!!!

Sounds like someone has a personal bone to pick.

As far as a wood cored boat.....there are several other ways to core stringers and bulkheads, but I believe I would take wood coring over anything. A lot of boat manufacturers still use wood, it is not something from the dark ages but rather something that works BEST. It's dense and strong and you really can FEEL a difference. If you ride in a foam cored boat it is just not the same feel.

Correct me if I'm out of line here fellas but wood coring is the way to go in my opinion

I've seen pictures of your boat many times, Tsunami. Great looking rig.

A couple of years ago I was drifting outside of Atlantic City maybe a half mile out and there was this Sutphen race boat, I believe it was a 32'. The guy was just ripping up and down the coast doing 90 mph. I can't remember the name of the boat, but it sounded incredible.

Just got the name of that boat around my way.

Zubaz 777 a 32' Sutphen. He won a lot of races with that boat.

I haven't seen it in a while.

the former Harrahs Zubazz is a 34' ..not sure if it still has the stripes, tho...??

Wood Will Be Stronger And Stiffer But Will Also Be More Weight And Will Handle Better In Real Offshore Condition's And Be Slower For The Lake Guy's Out There That Can Run At Full Throtle And Full Positive Trimm Witch Is Something You Can't Do In The Rough Stuff
