That first pic is one of the best I've seen of a 26'. The sound is looking perfect! Good job!

Bought some used 21p mirages off eBay to replace the 23p cleavers hoping to gain some RPM. I tried them out last weekend and nothing really changed. The WOT rpm was still at 4100-4200 and the top speed went down. Pretty dissapointed. I was hoping they would do something. Do you guys think that the motors are maxing out @ 4100 because of the head and stock 3" exhaust setup? Maybe they can't breath well enough?

I put the cleavers back on for the weekend. The weather is looking pretty good. Where is everyone planning on going? Claudios seems
like a good plan for Saturday!

Thanks C! I might be out this weekend so maybe I'll see you out there. That would be cool to test those props sometime. I'm always looking to get some more performance out of her.

I'm starting the winter projects and was thinking of sending the heads out for a valve job. Do you guys know of any good shops that are local here in CT that do good work? ball park pricing?

I had alot of issues with head gaskets this year and not sure why. Im also experiencing some really bad blow-by or what i think could be a hole in the piston. looks like some detonation problems.

I pulled the carbs apart last night to see what jets i had because i really havent looked into the carbs much. I am thinking that the carbs may be runing lean and making the engine run to hot. the primarys are 64 and the secondarys are 68 with a yellow spring on the vaccume. I dont know much about tuning carbs but do these numbers and springs sound about right?

hey mak...
a while back i used greco's in west haven. they are a full machine shop with a racing background, so no stuff is shipped out of house...fair prices, and they listen...if you know what you want, they'll accomodate...

Billy mathis AKA Billy the kid is good.

Billy carlquest is good also.

The only person I use though Is Larry Leifert in Torrington. We are doing a 535 pontiac turbo engine together in the next few weeks.

He does all my stuff.

He did all Paul Newmans stuff too and paul could afford to go to anyone in the world.

Its only him and his brother Ed there, so you know some kids not learning on your stuff.

He has been building the fastest SBC GT1 enigines in the country for years and they take more abuse than you boat engines EVER will.

860 482 4533
The nicest guy you could Imagine too.

I have known him since I was 13 years old and hes been building my engines since I was 16 never once had one fail from anything he did wrong on machining or assembly.

Detonation on my part is a different story.LOL LEAN IS MEAN!
