Default Looking for external hydro steering set up

I need a complete helm to stern hydro steering set up for my boat. I have a formula 271 Sr1 with a bravo drive. Let me know what you have.

Thanks,
Brad

Thanks...Can I use the power steering pump on the motor and just have it ran to external assist rams or do you have to have full steering, helm to stern? I am new to this style of steering and dont know much about it. I have upgraded my motor to 800hp and everyone highly recommends external steering!!

I have a 27' Baja Boss with a procharged 509 and 740 hp. I just put imco hydro steering on it last week. Every one was telling me the same thing...Oh you need steering, your gonna get thrown out of your boat at 90 mph. I really don't notice any diffrence, other than being 2grand lighter in my pocket. Best of luck.

The merc ITS is the cleanest system on the market. Not cheap but very nice

Question to pacalim how much turning do you do at speed?

It's not in a straight line you notice it , it's turning at speed especially above 80.

I noticed a huge difference in high speed turning.

From what I understand, it also helps out with supporting the drive/gimbal from the strain of so much torque being applied. It will greatly reduce the chance of breaking the gimbal ring from what I have been reading also.

Brad
100 percent correct

Especially helpful in a single engine ride.

I wore out 3 gimbals in 8 years before steering.
