Alpha One SS (shorty) drive, 1.32:1 ratio

I've got an Alpha One SS (-2.75") shorty drive that I've decided to part with. It's a 1.32:1 ratio, brond new complete water pump kit, fresh paint and decals. Great for smaller boats, Donzi classics, etc. Getting hard to find.

$2350, + shipping.

really tempting for my 87 210 sport....are these any tougher than standard alpha (gear wise) or just a short case? have a 330 BBC in front of my standard alpha, and can't afford a blackhawk

that thing would be sweet on your 210 sport, i had a 196 sport with a stock 330 (said 454 magnum but was 330hp) and wanted a SS for it. The price on this one looks good.
i say try it, i bet its a blast on that hull.

I'm using one behind a 502. Its fast, makes a big difference. I wouldn't use it on a hull over 22' (or one that's on the heavy side) but it will work for your baja. 1.32 is what you want for a big block. They like hydromotive 4 blades.

To the top!

How much shorter are these then the standard alpha. I'm wondering what kind of gains can be had from the standard alpha.

The SS is 2.75" shorter than a standard Alpha. It's not uncommon to see speed gains of 5-8mph. Great for Donzi Classics and similar smaller boats as the motors were installed fairly deep to keep everything under the engine hatch.
