Both of mine run great too, I however don't think they are white elephants. I wanted a boat that had 496s to avoid more expensive maintenance costs and spend the extra money on fuel.
I know viewing your posts that you love that Donzi with the blue motor and are very proud of it, I must admit I loved the helicopter pics you posted awhile back....but those motors aren't for everybody.
See you out on the lake next summer for a beer.

Sounds good. It just didn't have enough power for me. I fell for the CMI header scam and dropped $4,500 on headers for ZERO gain. Then everyone told me not to waste any more money on the 496 which would soon be out of production. I took the advice. So if you want to run them stock then they are good reliable engines. If you want a starting point for more power, maybe not. All JMO.

AJ,
Are the HO's 375hp or 425hp, can't ever remember which is the Mag and which is HO? How do they push the Powerplay?
I'm thinking about moving up in and the boat might be easier to sell with stock power... Would a pair of Merc's 465/502's work for you?
