First, is that factory Mercruiser?

Would it be the same one as my 2001 502 MPI?

It looks to be the same as the 500 EFI, it will work for your application, the 502 MPI doesn't use that round silver fuel filter canister, and yes that's factory Merc. after looking closer I think the hose connections to the cooler is different than the 502 mpi

Yes, it is factory Merc. I believe the fuel pressure is a little lower on this vs. the 502MPI. You would probably have to use your regulator to bump up the pressure or install an adjustable one.

Not currently. I am going to try and mount my new fuel pump on it. If that doesn't work out, I will include the bracket. Still waiting on my new pump to show up, so I don't know how well it is going to work out

I'm converting my 540's like you, to Aeromotive but I'm going to put them where I can get to them not under the motor mount like these

Take a look at the Weldon pumps and regulators. Nicer stuff for less coin.

I used the bracket off a 700sci. pump sits under the balancer makes for a clean install.
