Building boats for you
Leveled it out, rides better, looks better, no rubbing!

Spent some time and $$ on the Chevy D max today...

I got new Bilstien shocks (longer in front), had the T Bars cranked up for 1.5" of front lift, and an allignment.

Tires are 285/75-16s. THey rubbed before, not anymore.

The truck now sits level, an looks a lot better.

Re: Leveled it out, rides better, looks better, no rubbing!

Tim, I just did the same thing, but I didn't do the shocks. I have the stock mud flaps on and my tires rub. I got the Bridgestone Revos they seem to have a little more meat than the B.F. Goodrich and that is the problem. My friend has the B.F. and has no problem. GM should lift the front end to make the truck look better.
Have you done anything about the speedo? My mechanic should have the tool to make the change in a week. Hope to see you in KW. We meet at Don's room for Sat. race last year. You gave me his number to test the 36 he had.

Re: Leveled it out, rides better, looks better, no rubbing!

I had a local allignment shop install the shocks, crank it up, and allign it.
Shocks are easy enough to do yourself though, but I figured I save some bloody knuckles and let them do it...
I paid about $175 for the allignment and labor. The shocks were $300.
The truck rides MUCH better.
The stock shocks (front) are too short if you crank the bars up. They'll top out before the suspension and pull the eyes off.
The 5100 Bilstiens are a couple inches longer.

As far as the speedo, I have a Diablo Predator programmer. It also allows for tire size changes. My speedo is now about 3
mph slower than the GPS.

do the shocks. It's worth it. I got them from DPS in Ca, but most good offroad shops will know what you're talking about.
