Got the new boat and truck but the trailer has a delay when applying brakes.Brake controller turned all the way up to 10.The trailer should be able to stop the truck somewhat.System is definately working,can you adjust brakes to be more responsive?Brakes on all three axles 11,500 lb boat.Disc Kodiac 250 calipers.

Something isn't right I have three trailers with electric brakes. I can lock the trailer brakes on any of them and I've never been over 4.0 on the settings. If the controller is set to 10, the trailer brakes should almost put you through the windshield

One of two things:

1) The brake lines need to be bled.
2) The controller is not a compatible brand or needs to be levelled correctly (adjusted).

yep you should be eating glass that high on he levels, in a class 8 rig with the same set up elec over hydro, at level 5-6 it is pulling the rig down good. check proper fluid levels, bleed off brakes, check the brakes themselves, check the connection for a voltage drop with brakes being applied.

The brake controller is made by reese.Could someone advise on bleeding proceedure? Im assuming I could have someone hold the pedal down and bleed brake caliper 1 at a time.I mean you shouldnt have to pump because its electric right?As long as resovoir is constantly full that is.The only other thing would be to change the pads on all wheels but I really doubt the brakes are shot,this boat has only 70 hrs on it where could it have gone?

To bleed your brakes all you need to do is pull the pin on the breakaway switch. This will power the master cyl and you can bleed the brakes. Make sure you keep checking the brake fluid level.

If you have a BrakeRite master cyl. They recommend the Tekonsha Electronic Brake Controllers.

I have the brakeright and the tekonsha voyager is the only one that will work. Prodigy will not work with the brakerite.

Also BrakeRite has changed their units to work with the Prodigy controller. I have the Prodigy controller and it works fine.
