Performance Chip for Chevy 6.0 2500HD
Does anyone have first hand experience? I am looking for something to wake up the rather mild 6.0. Any suggestions?

I would not have high hopes. That engine is pretty maxed out, right out of the box.

I've plugged in a Hypertech power programmer and it really made a difference. I plugged the same programmer into a 2500 HD w/ 8.1L and it didn't do a damn thing. So I would recommend a High Flow exhaust, K&N cold air intake and a Hypertech power programmer. What year is your 2500 HD?

as far as i know, that is the same engine that is in the escalade. the escalade is rated at 345 hp and the truck should be 300 hp, i think the diff. is aluminum heads... dont know of any other diff.
good luck!

The truck is a 2004. I have had it since March of 05' and it is really a let down on the performance.

SHOWDOWN,
I agree with you 100%! I have an '04 2500hd 4x4 w/ the 6.0 that I've had since Sept. The performance just isn't there. I haven't done anything to the truck as of yet, but getting ready for some mods myself. Going to start w/exhaust and then a K&N. Let you know when I'm done, may be a few months though.

What do you tow? I know that you can't compare the two, but i traded an 01' Cummins dually and regret it! I don't know for sure but i think the dually was faster. I tow a 2004 25 Outlaw and don't think I would want to put to much more behind it which I think is ridiculous.....I just want to think there is something out there that will wake this thing up.

Re: Performance Chip for Chevy 6.0 2500HD
Showdown: Get a Hypertech and an intake and it will make a difference. Tune it for premium fuel, I did on my 5.3 and it helped. I tow a horse trailer behind a Yukon XL, and I noticed the difference. (This is the first time I disagreed w/ Sydwayz on trucks.) The 6.0 in the Escalade is a rocket.
However, do not expect torgue like a diesel. The 6.0 will not produce 500 ft lbs no matter what.
Go to the Hypertech website and they have dyno charts.
