On the test drive we pulled into a Chipotle for lunch, I had the windows down to listen to how noisy the diesel was, there was a Ford PSD (looked at leat 3-4 years old) 20 feet away idling from us. The noise coming from that FORD drowned out the Duramax.
Took the Duramax out on the highway punched it at 65mph and before you knew it we were going 90! Thing just keeps pulling. Plus the 6 speed Allison tranny is so SWEET, love the tap shift feature.

You sound like a Cubs fan I'd rather be driving than pushing!
Check out what the EPA has done for diesels in 07. Sounds like they will all suck. Less power more fuel.

Interesting to note they saddled the F350 with an extra 1300 lbs of bricks in the bed over the Chevy...

Since we couldn't determine the exact specifications of our three test trucks, there was a small problem when it came to comparing them side by side. With various combinations of engines, transmissions, rear-end gears and suspensions, each truck had a different maximum towing and hauling rating. With that in mind, we had to come up with a test that wouldn't favor the truck with the highest capacity. In other words, adding 10,000 pounds to a truck designed to handle 12,000 pounds is a bigger burden than doing the same to a truck designed to pull 15,000 pounds.

They couldnt determine the exact capacity? WTF, they stupid or what?

With a GCWR of 21,000 pounds, the Dodge Ram had the lowest overall rating. Adding the weight of our test trailer, along with passengers, fuel, etc., put the Dodge at 81 percent of its GCWR. With a GCWR of 23,500 pounds, the Chevrolet Silverado needed a little help to get to the 81 percent mark so we added 2,440 pounds of cinder blocks. Serious rear-end gears gave the Ford the highest GCWR at 26,600 pounds, requiring an extra 3,700 pounds of cinder blocks.

Test of three differently spec'd vehicles.. Than, a weak attempt to even out the playing field.. Next time the morons need to spec out three identical vehicles and do a test....

i have to agree with ya 100%.... i thought the test was poor, but in my eyes how you tune the truck, any one of these can smoke each other when the governors are off and tuned... im still going to stick to the chevys are light in the ass and i never cared very much to work with one... im not saying the line of trucks are not nice, they are just not for me....
