Default OTT - 04 Bmw

I am looking for some help from BMW experts. I am thinking about getting an 04 or 05 BMW 530 and was wondering if there were any problems with the "new model year" in 04 that was fixed in the 05s or 06s.

Any reason to stay away from the 530 in those years?

Thanks,
Rick

I have an 04 and no problems. The tire pressure sensors on all the BMWs are very sensative ( I have a "flat" every week) but other than that no issues.

If I was buying now though I'd get as new as possible to stay in the warranty / free maintence period.

Also if you want to hookup your iPod or use bluetooth you can't do it in an 04.

Might want to check out ... http://forums.e60.net/

i have 04' 530.(the wifes). Incomparison to the old style I have a couple of complaints. (we owned an 02' and a 98')
The seats are not as comfortable unless you are over 200lbs. Not as much support as the old. Also can no longer pull the headrests far enough forward so that you can us while driving. Also have the problem with the low air pressure sensors. Dummy lights, messages go off when theres no problem and you waste time bringing car to BMW. They do give you another BMW loaner but still a hassle. Also the front brakes went at 40k. was covered under warranty. Make sure you buy a car with 100k warrantee!!. Other then that, it is a quick, smooth great handeling car, and we will brobably buy another. If you want mpre comfortable seats you will have to buy the 530 sport, but makes car to stiff for evry day driving.

I have the premium package and sport package and I am very happy with the seats. The other seats (non-sport) were kinda lazy-boy-ish so I steered clear of them.

Make sure you have a warranty or you'll find something more depressing than the marina bill.

Fine machines and Great cars and good dlr network; IMHO, but take the advise of Smitty and others.

1-Make sure it is still under factory warranty
2-CarFax a must
3-try and spend the extra money and go for a BMW only CPO (factory supported)
4-pay extra to get the extended factory warranty(service contract).

Good luck
