New Pull Rig Poll

Ok so like many of you I am sure getting tired of looking through the very dated poll. So now that it is 2006/2007 models out there lets vote again. I am looking into a new truck in 6 months or less. I will drive the truck every day and pull a 33-38 boat 2-6 times a month and 1-4 times a year long hauls. I am not one of those dye hard gotta have a (you fill in blank)truck. So from what I read in the past Dodge has best engine,Ford I guess built Ford tough or Chevy for their Tranny. So gentlemen let the opinions and accusations fly

SOLD, WHAT NEXT?
Re: New Pull Rig Poll

I Am Not Die-hard Any Brand. Had Dodge With Cummins, Many Chevy's Dating To Inception Of Duramax And Allison, And My Buddy Has Ford Powerstroke. Towed 12k Boat In Summer And Snowmobile Trailer In The Winter And The Boat Does Much Better Behind Chevy With Trans Shifting And Weight Handling, Dodge Has Most Power But More Dogwalk Due To Shorter Wheel Base And Shifted Hard, And Ford Was A 2004 But Had Least Power, Probably Best Looks, But Rode The Roughest. All Depends On What You Are Looking For Above But In The End The Resale Is Best As Well On Chevy From What I Bought And Sold. Highly Reccomend Going To The Dealer Of Your Choice And Getting A Factory Exec. Or Fleet Vehicle With A Few Thousand Miles On It, Generally Save 5k-10k Depending On Vehicle.

You can view who voted on what. Stezz did not vote yet.
Poll is usually 50% Ford, 35 GM, and 15% Dodge.

Re: New Pull Rig Poll

They are all excellent trucks, no doubt about it. I'm partial to the Dodges of course, (217k miles on the last one, 100k current truck). CAPTWK just bought a 3500 Mega-Cab and it the finest truck I've ever driven. More Mercedes on the interior than Dodge, excellent ride, tons of grunt pulling his 42' Sonic. And the Mega-Cab is HUGE on the inside...

Re: New Pull Rig Poll

Ok so can someone explain why Ford is in first place? Is it brand loyalty? Like I said in first post I like all three trucks but I thought ford has problems with there diesel engine?? Or are they just minor? Also if Dodge has the best engine why hardly any votes? Just trying to get the facts

I own a construction co.Have 6 new trucks. They are good, some are better than others at doing certain tasks. I use to only buy GM, but changed in 01. I prefer the Fords, and have no more problems with them since 04 than my Duramax. As a matter of fact, Ive had more tranny issues with the Dodge with GMC right behind it. We pull heavy trailers and equipment all day long. Drive all 3, make your calculatios. I just ordered 2 more Fords. F350 non-dually's. Good luck. Jeff

I seriously doubt that you will get any facts here

Of the 2006 models, the Duramax Allison combination has won all the magazine comparison tests that I have seen. The most detailed one is linked above.

They are all great trucks, Ford and Dodge are at the end of their engine life cycles with new engines due out. The 06 Duramax is basically all new with the six speed Allison.

From January 2007 Diesels will have to carry a reported extra 200-300lbs of emission controls. That puts a major question mark against any of the 2007/2008 models as far as reliability goes.

No point buying a truck you don't like the looks of, any of them will handle your relatively light work load with ease.

Enjoy.
