Thanks all

Picked the truck up the other night after they drove it and found nothing wrong. As of right now it has not acted up. Will try the EGR disconnect next time and go from there.

Sydwayz, if you are refering to the 7.3L, I agree . The truck I traded in on this one was a 97 F-350 that I never had any problems with.

I started the last thread and disconnected with no problems thus far. From my experience and driving style if this did'nt fix it I would know it!

My Excursion is an 04 with 124K on it and prior to disconect had the same symptoms as you, when it started smoking the last time is when decided on a perminent solution......Still runs great and I've put on at least 10K since disconnection...........
