Post 2004 6.0L problems ??

I currently have a 2004 F-350 crew cab dually with a 6.0L diesel and automatic trans. For about the past 2 or so months I have been experiencing a bucking or hesitation problem. At times I have had the truck stall on me when coming to a stop orwhen putting it in gear. It does refire but still continues to run rough. This condition does not happen all the time. The dealer has had the truck in four different times. First time was to reprogram the computer with a newer program. The next time was something to do with the ISR ???? and a fuse. We have changed fuel/water separtors 3 times and no change.

This time they are at a loss. No codes and no check engine lights.

Anyone else have the same problem??

EGR valve is dirty. It's on the top of the motor right in the front. They need regular cleaning or even better, disconnect it and have a better running truck. We had a whole big string on this about a month ago

There is a pipe that needs to be cleaned out also.

There has been a couple recalls with regard to the fuel injection module and bad injectors.

I was experiencing the same problem. Brought it in and they took care of it. I had 1 bad injector. All was covered under warranty less 100 ded. because i have 60k on the truck.

Clean the EGR valve, then use the ford recomended fuel additive, Yes I know that I do not like using additives either, BUT SINCE i started using the ford fuel additive I have had no problems with the EGR valve sticking. 40,000 on a 05 exursinon.

There are 99 Technical Service Bulletins out on the 6.0 powerstroke engine (at last count)

Good luck
