I Have A 2006 Suburban 2500 Lt 4x4 And It Towed Awesome. Shocked Many How Well It Towed The Boat. My Neighbor Just Bought The 1500 '07 Last Night And It Definitely Has More Bells And Whistles But The 5.3 Motor Would Struggle With Any Boat Of Any Size. Sweet Amenities Inside Though And Great Looking.

got an 07 denali XL love the 6.2 Liter motor and they finally have a good trans 6L80. The truck absolutly runs great, and the new interiors are better than ever....none of the universal GM buttons and knobs anymore. Unfortunatly I pull the baja behind my silverado so i cant offer anything on that.

Just drove a 2007 Yukon XL 2500 SLT, wow what a nice vehicle. Really smooth and quiet for a 2500, put's my 2004 Avalnache 2500 to shame. The Denali's have the interior closest to the Escalade- sweet. The 2007 SLT interior was much nicer than our 2000 Yukon (wifes truck). GM really upgraded these vehicles, the IP is really nice.
The 6 liter motors now have enough torque to pull big loads. My 8.1 is a bear but gets 11.5 mpg empty!!!

This is from the Chevy website. The new 6.0 in the 2500s is still a far cry from the 8.1 w/ a 12,500lbs tow rating.

Yeah- haven't figured that out yet. Those should pull 10-11k no problem. Maybe there is an upgrade coming on the 2500.

I believe the 8.1L is completely gone from the truck lineup. The baby Duramax with a narrower transmission might fix the gap by 2008ish; but no word on Avalanche application.
