Rat....you can not possibly think your going to pull that boat with Srw...pleeeze....not going to happen...that thing with 3 motors in it is going to yank that ford all over the road like a rag doll...you do have a issue with the costa rica thing though....I do not know if they are still the same trannys...and the fitting...don't know....but the issues were fixed with this...I run many of these they all weigh in at 13 thousand everyday murdering the peddle of course...I tell my guys keep it to the wood!

Ratman, I dissagree with Byrdman. I just traded a 2002 F350 just like you discribed. It handled my 34 Super Hawaii just fine. Other than pulling my boat, I farm, and I put 80,000 miles on pulling 12,000# fertilizer carts and stuff. Never a hickup. Traded the truck last week for a 2006. It had 130k miles when I traded it.

Let me tell you people something...I have towed more garbage around...with all kinds of trucks....a crappin srw truck ain't good for towing anything except some farm or plumbing equiptment...go ahead and try it...like everybody else....sure you can pull it....your can't stop it....can't deal with any panic stops....basically your a total accident waiting to happen....it is bad enough trying to deal with it with a dually....let alone you people saying it is ok to tow 40 foot of stuff with a srw....and I know rat....so I am fighting on this one....pleeeeeze!!!....I do not care if it is 3 motors or 2....going to be chucked around like a rag doll....here we go again!.... .

The tow rating in a F350 then was about 11,000 lbs. The new F250/F350 is 12,500 lbs with a weight distributing hitch. Will it handle it? Yes. Will a dually handle it better? Maybe.

Just don't skimp on your tires. Run at least 10 ply sidewalls. use a weight distributing hitch if you are anywhere close to the weight limit. Also use electric over hydralic brakes on the trailer.
