I pull a 30' PQ that weights around 7500lb + 1100lb trailler. It works fine around town, pretty good power. The biggest concern would be braking. The farthest I have been is around 160miles round trip. Wouldn't want to venture any farther!
you need to check your manual for the tow rating
right at 7600-7700
pulled my boat (with trailer 8k) thru the West Va turnpike with a Z-71 Tahoe thought i was not going to make it home in 1 piece, got home and traded in.

That pretty much says it- it's not how well a truck tows your boat on a flat, dry road. It's what it does when you come across something unusual or unexpected.

There are parts of the WVa Tpk that resemble an obstacle course- at 70 mph+.

Actually think the door sticker reads 6800lbs!
I know when you look it up online it says closer to the 7700lb.
I basically only use it to pull it out for fuel and to my work to wash it. @ 30miles round trip.
