Re: Questions on a 2006 GMC and Dodge
Thanks rbr238, no matter if you have owned them or not, these guys still don't wont to here it. I have 130k on my 02 dmax, no problems just came off a 2500 mile run. Did you read where drgnryder said i was dreaming if i thought a dmax would outrun a cummins, and in the same sentence he tells that his friends (dmax) will bareley pull on him. I know there is problems with all just some are no stop problems, such as with the 6.0 ford, strong truck they just don't last if your out here using them to haul heavy loads. My buddy took his Dodge to used car lot the other day to trade it, the guy told him he couldn't give him to much for it because it was a dodge. He asked him what was wrong with that, and he told him that, owning a dodge is like having a black girlfriend, they are fun to ride you just don't won't no one to see you with them. This is a true story, and i am not racist by any means.

There is a reason the big rigs use inline six cylinder diesels; they have the highest torque at the lowest RPMs. The Cummins also has 30% fewer parts than the Powerstroke and the Duramax, so more miles can be put on it before teardown and it gets better fuel mileage as well.
Gale Banks built a Cummins Dakota with 750hp and 1300ft.lbs torque that set the fastest speed in its class at Bonneville; 221.138mph. And when he detunes it to drive it on the street it gets over 21mpg!

Just got a 2006 GMC Crew Cab 3500 Dually Duramax and Love it.
It replaced the 2005 Chevy Crew Cab 3500 Dually Duramax that theives loved also it seems.
I pull a 42 Cigarette Tiger with it and it does the job stellar.
I have no idea about Dodge.
The old and the new

Great looking setup GLH, mine looks identical to your old one, but two wheel drive. I've enjoyed every minute of mine, we even take it on family vacations as well. Is the motor in the bed of the truck what you run in your cig.

The d max is a refined drag motor...just now coming to life with some real after market mods....currently starting to surpass dodge with leaps and bounds...we have been hearing some very unreal numbers here and there....they seem to be true....look at this valve train..reminds me of jessel.....the whole motor is like this..I was suprised..
