Those things ride like $hit, because the suspension is set up for the armor. The armor is heavy so Byrdman is right. Better off with a used semi or something like that.

Yeah, our other towing guru, Chris Sunkin already
enlightened me to this dilemma on another thread.

His MDT ambulance idea could be a possible alternative though.
The outside lockable storage would be nice too.

I know one thing for sure. No Freightliner M2 for me
after hearing about Gino's and others problems with them.

This is one of the things that I've learned the most about here on OSO.
No towing near or over the limit. Not for pulling reasons,
but for control, handling and stopping. Just check Byrd's and Chris's
posts on the subject. Their arguments don't need much convincing.
It's just plain common sense.

I absolutely agree about the towing weight rating. I definately do not want to exceed my rating.
This is why I'm looking for a better tow vehicle.
I just thought the Armored car thing would be kind of unique.

Can't mention the name of the company that is looking into being my distributor. It's a big soft drink out fit buy's old armored trucks for promotion vehicles for a sport drink brand they own. I did some community events with them and their former Brinks truck, so it towed their promo trailer well, the local race car for the oval and parade float. The GM of this company also uses for towing his Mastercraft Prostar..... I can ask where they got it.

Don't they come with bulletproof or run-flat tires also?

They may only be geared for a top speed of 55-60 mph though. Grandpa would be blowin' by ya.

Before I bought the toter- I often considered one of these, but I'm betting the torque/gearing are way less than impressive- prolly great for local use though- bet there is no air ride either

I would think the torque would be fine. Gotta figure coin and paper weighs ALOT.
I imagine the gearing would be pretty low, and HWY speeds would be max (65-70) - which would be fine by me.

I'd be surprised- truck was specced out to move 26k max locally at lower speeds- that usually means 600 ftlbs or less and lots of ring & pinion to keep the price down- won't do much as an OTR hauler with a sizeable boat behind it. The empty weight of the truck alone would use up any perceived power it had going for it. This is the downside of most all medium duty trucks specced for local use
