Default Painting OSRV mirrors body color?

I was wondering if anybody has painted their outside rear view mirrors. And if so did you spray over the texture finish? Smooth sand them? Or fill them? And how did they turn out. Looking at upgrading to some larger mirrors and I like the body color look.

For the best look , clean them with a degreasser(even new ones) scuff, spray with a good filler primmer, dry sand, respray, wet sand, and color coat ( single stage or B/C, C/C)
